Cheshire implements new credit card rates

Sep 15, 2006

Cheshire Building Society has announced changes to its credit card rates in a bid to become more competitive in the market. The card now comes with a rate of 0% per annum on balance transfers, 2% handling fee applicable, for 12 months and 0% per annum on card purchases for three months with no annual fee.

After the introductory period, Cheshire says the card will revert to a typical rate of 15.9% APR (variable). The card also has up to 56 days interest free credit if the balance is paid in full. Other features include tailored credit limits, up to three additional cardholders on the account, and MBNA's fraud protection guarantee.

“This is a fantastic offer for individuals who are looking to borrow money in the short term as all purchases are interest free for the first three months. The card is also a great option for borrowers looking to consolidate their existing card balances on to one card, giving them a 12-month period at 0% p.a. on balance transfers,” Zena Carter, Affinity Development Manager at Cheshire.
