Barclaycard has
introduced the Barclaycard Student, a credit card targeting college students.
The bank claims that Barclaycard Student features the lowest typical APR of any
student credit card and has several features designed to entice customers who
are new to credit card spending. These include a 12-month interest-free offer
on a Dell Inspiron notebook, a credit limit of £600 at account opening and no
fees charged if the borrower accidentally goes over the credit limit.
Barclaycard Student features a purchase APR of
14.9%, a minimum monthly repayment of 5%, and
a 14.9% rate on cash advances. Barclaycard will also send free text message
reminders when the monthly payment is due. Lastly, Barclaycard Student includes
a range of discounts such as 20% off selected products at Argos, money off RAC membership, Lonely
Planet guides and products from websites such as www.cdwow.com and
www.buyagift.co.uk.
