BT terminates broadband service to Euro1Net

Aug 23, 2006

Euro1Net subscribers have found themselves getting disconnected from the Internet after BT Wholesale stopped providing broadband services to Advanced Data Services (Europe) Limited, the company that runs the Euro1Net service.

In its official statement, BT Wholesale says it has stopped providing services to Advanced Data Services due to the non-payment of invoices. Nonetheless, BT says it has taken steps to ensure that disenfranchised subscribers are able to order a new broadband service with a provider of their choice as soon as possible.

For its part, Euro1Net is offering a number of options to its subscribers, such as transferring them over to the Talk & Surf service or supplying each user a Migration Authorization code (MAC) and a refund of any unused months. The ISP claims that this glitch is merely a minor issue with one supplier and does not indicate that they are going out of business.
