conducted a study that identified the top UK cities in terms of broadband
connections. Results show that the city of London is tops in terms of the number of
broadband lines per person, with almost 1.4 DSL or cable modem connections for
everybody living in the area. Meanwhile, Swindon

(over 50%).

Point Topic noted that Swindon
has a relatively high proportion of young families with children, which lead in
broadband take-up. In addition, the study pointed out that Swindon
is well covered by ntl:Telewest as well as by BT. As a result, total broadband
take-up is much higher. Point Topic says other towns in the south of England such as Wokingham, High
Wycombe. Milton Keynes, Watford and Stevenage
also have an exceptionally high household take-up at 48%.
