Namesco enters “free broadband” fray

Aug 8, 2006

Namesco is the latest addition to UK’s growing list of ISPs offering a “no strings attached” free broadband service. The company’s HomeStart package offers a 512Kb connection and 2GB of monthly downloads, plus a Free ZyXEL router, email address and full UK-based telephone support 7 days a week. Namesco charges a £60 fee to connect to the service and no monthly subscription for the first 12 months. After 12 months, the service costs £10.95 per month.

Namesco says the special offer will run in August and will coincide with the launch of an entirely new BroadbandMax product range. The company’s top of the line HomeMax+ package will offer an up-to-8Mbps connection plus 60GB of peak time downloads for £24.95 per month. In addition, BroadbandMax products will be supplied with ZyXEL routers in place of the traditional USB modem, Namesco revealed.
