A study conducted by UK insurance provider AXA projects that over 2 million people taking part in adventure holidays this year will not have travel insurance. Some typical adventure holidays include cycling, trekking/walking, canoeing/kayaking, water sports and sailing/yachting
AXA found that cycling is an adventure activity in which people are least likely to get cover for, with 19% of respondents who plan to do this on their holidays during the next 12 months are not expected to have cover as opposed to only 3% of those interviewed that plan to do some scuba diving. Similarly, the study predicts that only 5% of respondents who plan to go skiing or snow boarding won't have cover.
