Pipex prepares for migration to LLU network

Jul 13, 2006

In a bid to develop triple plays services – voice, data and video – to businesses and consumers, Pipex has started large-scale migration of its customers to its Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) network. LLU is expected to allow Pipex to offer super-fast broadband capabilities and develop new services such as video on demand.

The UK ADSL provider is claiming to be the first operator to ‘bulk migrate’ using Openreach’s Equivalence Management Platform (EMP). By using Openreach, Pipex expects the migration to go on smoothly and with minimal disruption to customers. Pipex customers are being contacted prior to migration, advising them of timings and the process for migration.
